We are pleased to be hosting you in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Joint Grand Challenges Africa (GC Africa) Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Drug Discovery (DD) and Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) inception meeting.

As we enter the final decade to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it’s possible that Africa and the world may not meet the ambitious targets by 2030 with the technologies that exist today. Scientific innovation is critical to solving our most pressing health and development challenges and helping more Africans and people around the world lead better lives, sooner.  Grand Challenges Africa (GC Africa), that is part of the global Grand Challenges family, identifies, launches and manages Africa-led innovations addressing health and developmental challenges; provides follow-on funding to support translation and scaling of promising innovations.
